Thank you for celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2017 with us!

On 7 June we hosted our Barnet Volunteering Fair, with the aim of celebrating the volunteering which happens in Barnet and helping more people find volunteer opportunities.
In the morning we held a training and networking workshop for volunteer coordinators from local organisations, and were delighted to invite Mind in Barnet, The Challenge and London Borough of Barnet’s Barnet Together Campaign as guest speakers.
Forty local organisations came together to promote their volunteering opportunities, and over 200 members of the general public attended the event. It was such a pleasure to see so many people coming together to find ways of supporting their communities. The best part of the day was seeing the ArtsDepot buzzing with positive energy and excitement.
In the afternoon we had the honour of presenting certificates to local residents who have contributed to Barnet through volunteering. The Mayor of Barnet presented the certificates to these fantastic individuals. Thank you for your participation in the event.
As well as a huge range of stalls from local organisations, we also had a micro-volunteering activity for people to get involved in. Many members of the public got involved to make a recycled paper mobile which promoted volunteering. They looked lovely hanging from the walls of the ArtsDepot.
The day would not have been such a success without the support of our volunteers: Lauren, Cliff, Khadijah, Carolina, Zak, below, and David, Andy, and Petrit (not pictured).
Please see below for a list of the organisations who were present on the day, and thank you to all our partners and supporters for their continued dedication to volunteering in Barnet.
