World Mental Health Day 2018

We know how important mental health is. According to Mind, in England 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week. World Mental Health Day is a time to reflect on your own or consider giving your time to support an individual or organisation in need. There are lots of different ways you can be involved, from befriending to administrating. Click on the links of our opportunities below for your chance to make a difference while learning new skills. If you need help registering and applying for roles see our Volunteer FAQs.

“It’s heartbreaking seeing some of the cases we look at. Last night the penny really dropped; it’s not just volunteering anymore, it’s being able to change someone’s life.” - A volunteer with Barnet Youth Offending Team.

Our star opportunity this week is with an organisation that supports former young offenders to make positive changes in their life to avoid offending again. Volunteers previously helping on this scheme report fantastic training and a real feeling of being able to do some good. Apply for the role by clicking on the star below.

Other roles available today include a quiet role supporting the Barnet Seniors Association, and a chance to use your gardening skills to cheer up families of children living with life-limiting conditions.
